I Love You

I try so hard not to be sad
But, I just miss you so bad.
Please help me make it through,
Because, I hate feeling this blue
Put your guiding arm around me,
Open my eyes and help me see.
That everything will be alright,
That one day I to, will see the light

I LOVE YOU

I Just Been Pep Talked!!!

The world needs you to stop being boring
Yeah you
Boring is easy, everybody can be boring
But you're gooder than that

Life is not a game people
And if life is a game, are we all on the same team
I mean, really, right?
I'm on your team, be on my team

This is life people
You've got air coming through your nose, you've got a heart beat
That means its time to do something

It's like that dude Journey said 'Don't stop believing; unless your dream is stupid
Then you should get a better dream

What will be your Spacejam?
What will you create that will make the world awesome?
Nothing if you keep sitting there

If we are all on the same team
Lets start acting like it

We were made to be awesome

Wise Words . . . .

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…
I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth;
oh never mind;
you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….
You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind;
the kind that blind side you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Sing
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss
Don’t waste your time on jealousy;
sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself. Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults;
if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…
the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives,
some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t,
maybe you’ll have children,maybe you won’t,
maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…
what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own..
Dance…
even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get,
the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard;
live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you.
Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse;
but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen…

David Bowie

I finally got around to watching 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' on New Year's Eve and what a brilliant film! After watching I went straight to Spotify and played this song followed by Amazon to get the book.

Routine

Do you get the same bus or take the same route to work everyday??

I stand at the same bus stop, at the same time everyday and get the same bus and I'm getting to notice a lot of other people do the very same!

Each day just before my bus comes an older gentleman rides passed on his bicycle, in shirts no matter the weather, and does not pass me without saying hello. Yesterday as he cycled passed he wished me a Happy New Year!!

Even though you may think people don't notice you, they do! You are part of their routine just as they are part of yours

Mumford and Sons In Concert

What an amazing concert and easily thee best concert that I have ever been too!!

To say that I was a little nervous going to this concert was an understatement and you may be wondering why.  I last seen Mumford and Sons when they played Mandela Hall in Belfast which is a intimate venue which they had jumping with energy back in December 2010.  So when they announced they were to play the Odyssey Arena which is the complete other end of the spectrum of intimate I can say that I didn't know whether it was going to be the same as the last time.

I can safely say that I was not the same as last time because it was better than last and I do not know what i was ever worried about! The set, the lights, Mumford, everything was simply AMAZING

THANK YOU MUMFORD & SONS please come again very very soon

One Little Word

After a lot of thought, consideration and going back and forth I have finally decided on BELIEVE

Originally and for quite some time it was going to HOPE but then I was thinking to myself, yes I do want HOPE but I want to be BELIEVE there is HOPE out there. I want to BELIEVE in the MAGIC again and most of all BELIEVE in myself!!

Meet Cooper

I don't know how I have not introduced you all to the wonderful yet crazy Cooper, my 6 month old Beagle! Isn't he just a little cutie!!! Granted he is tearing everything apart that I give him and peeing everywhere but how can you not love those big eyes!!

New Year New Start

How did you spend January 1st 2013??

Yesterday, for me, was spent walking my dog Cooper in the local park close to my house.

I also thought about what my 'One Little Word' would be for this up and coming year and I think I have it!!

Come back tomorrow to find out what it is

Real Love

“ I'm not saying that at some point love isn't staying up until 2am phone calls or stealing kisses when you least expect it, or instantly falling for each other’s favourite songs because it is, or at least that’s what the lead up to it feels like, but real love, is so much more. It’s going out at 12am to get something to eat for your wife who can’t get out of bed, it’s listening to them as they explode with vulnerability on your living room couch talking about how they were only so young when they’re parents passed on. it’s remembering how someone likes their coffee in the morning without asking—without ever asking, it’s visiting someone in the hospital knowing the last thing you want to do is see them in that condition, it’s wanting to be with that person despite despite everything, the future, the past, and everything in between, it’s the intimate things that you don’t even realize involve such intimacy, but they do, in secret, like the pinky promises you two made behind your back, to love one another for always, in the time you thought you were in love, when you were actually just on your way to it.”

Happy 2013

My wish for you . . . .

Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you are in doubt,
Faith so that you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth
and Love to complete your life
